On 23 April 2026, Ambassador Krit Tankanarat, together with Heads of Diplomatic Missions from the ASEAN Committee in Buenos Aires (ACBA), paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ms. Valeria Csukasi, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, to exchange views on promoting cooperation between Thailand, ASEAN, and Uruguay.
Both sides discussed opportunities to further expand cooperation in trade, investment, and supply-chain connectivity. Thailand views Uruguay as a promising platform for enhancing the role of Thai businesses in the region, as well as an important gateway to MERCOSUR. On this occasion, Ambassador Tankanarat also congratulated Uruguay on assuming the Chairmanship of the Group of 77 this year and reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to work with Uruguay to advance the interests of developing countries and promote constructive international cooperation.
