On 30 March 2026, Mr. Jeerayut Sonchai, Counselor, and Mr. Panupong Pechploy, First Secretary, met with Mr. Agustin Rebello, Director of International Trade, and representatives of YPF, Argentina’s leading state-owned energy company.

The meeting focused on exploring opportunities to expand energy cooperation between Thailand and Argentina, particularly in the areas of oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG), where Argentina has strong production and export potential.

Both sides exchanged views on avenues for practical collaboration, which would contribute to strengthening Thailand’s energy security and enhancing the efficiency of its energy supply chain in the long term.
