On 25 November 2025, H.E. Ambassador Krit Tankanarat, in his capacity as Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Buenos Aires (ACBA), delivered the opening remarks at the “ASEAN-Argentina Digital Economy Online Seminar: Opportunities in Startup, Innovation, and Market Access.” The event was attended by around 50 participants from government agencies, the private sector, and academic institutions from Argentina, Thailand, and other ASEAN Member States.

The seminar was convened to promote closer cooperation between ASEAN and Argentina in the field of the digital economy and to provide a platform for agencies and leading drivers in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the startup ecosystem from both regions to engage with one another, paving the way for future trade and investment collaboration.

Speakers from Thailand, Argentina, the Philippines, and Malaysia underlined the importance of developing strong cooperation networks and strengthening preparedness in terms of human capital, entrepreneurial financing, and market access for the new digital economy, as well as adapting to the rapid pace of digital technological change. Participants also exchanged in-depth knowledge and perspectives on the practical application of AI and on empowering a new generation of entrepreneurs, which are expected to be key “game changers” in shaping the future direction of the economy and society, enhancing competitiveness, and jointly driving sustainable growth.
