On 8 December 2022, Ambassador Krit Tankanarat addressed a business community led by Diego Martínez Bernié, President of the MERCOSUR – ASEAN Chamber of Commerce (MACC) – Uruguay and CEO of MM&A Global, and other executives from leading companies in Uruguay who showed interest in doing business with Asia and the ASEAN.
Ambassador Krit expressed appreciation for the opportunity to interact with Uruguayan business members, for MACC’s plan to visit the ASEAN next year to explore the many potentials ASEAN has to offer, and for MACC's activities in recent years that helped bring MERCOSUR closer to the ASEAN.
He also affirmed that Thailand’s business climate is similar to Uruguay’s, in the sense that it is open as it is also one of the most business-friendly countries, and both countries could be a gateway to a larger market and more opportunities in Latin America and Asia.
Mr. César Duré, from the Office of Commercial Affairs of the Royal Thai Embassy in Buenos Aires, also introduced trade and investment opportunities with Thailand.
