On 21 October 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Buenos Aires attended the Opening Ceremony of the 40th Mar del Plata International Film Festival at the Cine Gaumont in Buenos Aires.

The Film Festival will be held from 6 - 16 November 2025, in Mar del Plata, an event that attracts over 130,000 spectators annually. This year, the Thai film “A Useful Ghost” is set to be screened, directed by Mr. Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke and starring Ms. Davika Hoorne.

“A Useful Ghost” previously won the prestigious Grand Prix in the Critics' Week section at the Cannes Film Festival.
