On 22 July 2026, Ambassador Krit Tankanarat attended the reception for Mr. Jorge Salomón Jure Vallejos, Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Thailand in Asunción, held at Club Centenario in Asunción. The event was also attended by Mr. Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay.

During the event, the Ambassador highlighted the role of the Honorary Consul in promoting relations between Thailand and Paraguay across trade, investment, tourism, and academic cooperation. Mr. Jure expressed his firm commitment to performing his duties as Honorary Consul to the best of his ability, focusing on providing assistance to Thai nationals and serving as a bridge of friendship between Thailand and Paraguay.

Thailand and Paraguay will mark the 65^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2027. The reopening of the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate-General in Asunción serves as an important opportunity to further strengthen bilateral ties, as well as to promote dynamic cooperation in trade, investment, cultural collaboration, and people-to-people relations.
